It will never cease to amaze me how many people assume yelling and insulting someone will help them get treatment/help faster. Like, sir, if you would just hush and listen we would have been done 30 min ago, but here we are My mama works in heathcare and is the sweetest person ever, the amount of times people have made her cry for no reason is crazy

I absolutely agree about the glucometer; I hated it. I used to do open heart, and they come from the OR on insulin drips, and I had to check those sugars hourly or every two hours, and of course, I had to do the 🤬glucometer 😂. Another thing I hated was when I found my patient with poor oral care from prior shift ( vented patients) -- irritated the life out me!!!!😂

Super realistic! During all of this, the resident is trying to track you down because the teams are rounding on your patients... at the same time. Also a great opportunity to use your resources if you're falling behind, especially as a newer ICU nurse. Ask for help, delegate where you can, etc.

So, I was supervising at this facility, and one of the nurses picked up a double. So, I received a call out in the middle of the shift. 😂the nurse was beside me and called off for her second shift. I asked her why did you do that? like I am right next to you, and she responded, “ I wanted to make it official I had enough of this sh*t.”😂😂😂😂😂

Thanks for the shoutout. I’m a SN that works as a PRN float tech. You hit the nail on the head. Tech/CNA before becoming RN should be a requirement. I have learned so much and gotten 100x more clinical experience than other SNs in my cohort. Also I know which floors are good, which are 💩 shows, I have directors who are tracking my progress in school. Recently, as a PRN Clinical tech I was awarded a DAISY award and Clinical Tech excellence award, which I hear are extremely rare for PRN staff. My director seemed supper excited when it happened. I always love the love my RNs give me when they see me, and even more when they teach me something new or let me do small little extra stuff.

All for Nclex :(i think that i was just so tired by the end of it all that i just wanted to be done. I'm hopeful that i can bounce back but right now I just feel like crying 😢 😭💔💔🤕😓😔💔💔😓😓😔💔💔😓
